COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

The Competitive Program offers year-round player development opportunities for the most enthusiastic, committed and talented soccer players, ages  U-U18. The goal of the Competitive Program is to develop players to their highest level both on and off the field.

Steele Creek Soccer Club prides itself on offering a level of play for every committed soccer player with a strong emphasize on work rate, desire to learn and personality. As such, every Competitive team, regardless of level, has a professional coach and U-U15 age groups are lead by a full-time age group coordinator.

Use the following chart to determine your child's age group for the 2019-20 season.

   Important Dates:

  • Registration for Fall 2019/spring 2020  Soccer now open
  • Soccer evaluations will be held on May 6/7, 6:00pm for YA ONLY
  • For u-U12 May 13/14 6:00pm
  • For U-older May 20/2 6:00pm
  • Practice will begin in mid-August and games will begin on August 17 (depending on division) 
  • The regular game season will end in near the end of late-November
  • Location for evaluations are the soccer fields in the back of the complex.

   Age Divisions and are based on the birth year of each player:

U13:  Born in 2007

U12:  Born in 2008

U11:  Born in 2009

U10:  Born in 2010

U9:    Born in 2011

U8:    Born in 2012-2013

    FALL 2019/Spring 2020 Fees for Competitive Soccer:

  • Youth Academy Soccer - 450
  • 11U-114U Soccer - 750
  • 15U-18U Soccer -550 

Note: Fees are paid at time of registration. The registration and membership fees, along with donations and sponsorships, fund the programs at SCAA and pay for facility maintenance. SCAA receives no public, city, county, state or federal funding. The yearly Family Membership Fee is $80. Each family that has a child in SCAA sports is responsible for the yearly family membership fee. Sports Fees vary by sport, and each child who participates is responsible for that sport’s fee. 

   Competitive soccer program includes:

Teams practice at SCAA. Home games are played at SCAA.  Uniforms are order by parents at all age levels.   Practice and play on full fields, designed for soccer.  Learn and play the game as it was meant to be played on full size age appropriate fields. League fees, referee fees and NCYSA registration fees are included, if applicable.

   Player Responsibilities:

  • Soccer Shoes (Outdoor/Firm Ground Cleats)
  • Shin guards
  • Water for every game and practice

   Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Communicate team activities with families
  • Assistant Coaches: Help coaches with practices and games, lead activities when the Coach is not available
  • Team Parents: Organize team snacks and assist the coach with communications.
  • Other opportunities include Concessions, Field Maintenance.

7:15 pm-8:15pm: Boys & Girls born in 2008/2007(u13-u14))

6:00pm-7:00pm: Boys & Girls born in 2006/2005(u15-u16)

7:15pm-8:15pm: Boys & Girls born in 2004/2003/2002/2001 (u17-u19)

Some players will have the option to play "up" in age.  Players can never play "down"

All Players welcome at all evaluations

  • For boys & girls of all skill levels

  • We do not have parent coaches/trainers

  • Every team has a professional trainer

  • Team trainers run all practices and coach on game days

  • Even if you have intentions to play elsewhere, come for a free evaluation

Players will not be evaluated for a specific team.

Evaluations are made by independent trainers.

Please arrive 15 minutes early for check in.
