The reference to age in Softball is in terms of “softball age” which may or may not be the same as the player’s current age at the time of registration. The Char-Meck association defines Softball Age as the age of the player as of January 1st, opening day for the Spring Season and July 1st, opening day for the Fall Season. The table below will assist you in determining your child’s Age Group.
Registration opens for Spring in January and in July for Fall!!!
Do not hesitate! Please sign up early!
We try to keep teams to a 10 - 12 player maximum so that everyone get sufficient playing time. Once 12 players have registered the system will automatically assign the next player to register or anyone that has not paid to a wait list until enough players have registered and paid to form another team. Should this happen do not be alarmed. We do everything we can to allow everyone to play. If you have an issue with payment, please contact Financial Aid or the Softball Commissioner for assistance.
AGE DIVISIONS & RULES
All players will be expected to play in their "assigned" age groups. Players will be evaluated with their assigned age groups by at least two coaches. Teams will be determined by the number of players who register. If there is a need to "balance" teams, the player agent and commissioner maymove players up into the next age group. This determination may be made based on player age, skill level, and possibly position played. Requests to "play up" may or may not be taken into consideration. Once teams are drafted and you have been contacted by your coach, you are assigned to that team. Refunds will not be given once teams have been drafted unless there is a valid medical reason.
